Benjamin Wei Che is currently Head of China Corporates, Managing Director, East China under CIB. He joined the bank in May 2015, from Citigroup where he served as SVP for Global Shipping and Logistics Industry.
Investment Banking Division based in Hong Kong. Previously he also worked at BNP Paribas Investment Banking – Industrial Group focusing on energy, transportation and logistics sector as an industry coverage banker offering Corporate Finance, M&A and Financial Advisory, Capital Market, and Structured Finance solutions to leading flagship customers, where he originated and executed various transactions across Europe and Asia and developed his knowledge and network in the industries.
Benjamin has almost 15 years international banking experience spending coverage/origination, strategic advisory and structured finance focusing on energy, transportation and logistics in Hong Kong, London and Paris. He successfully closed a number of French Tax/Operating lease transaction in China from 2007. He also structured the first off-balance sheet financing with capital market solution and developed cross-border equity scheme for major Chinese transportation client, as well as CEXIM/K-Sure/JBIC/NEXI covered ECA projects in North Asia. He also worked on a number of M&A and financial advisory projects and capital market solutions for major energy, transportation and logistics companies with total deal value over USD 10 billion.
Benjamin started his banking career as an Investment Banking Analyst in Paris and London. He graduated, Cum Laude, from ESCP Europe in Paris and received his Master Degree from the Cass Business School – City University of London with Distinction in 2005. He is native Chinese speaker and excel in French and English as second language.
