Erik Borgen is the Managing Director of Herkules Singapore Pte.Ltd., which is fully owned by Herkules Capital, Norway’s leading Private Equity Manager with close to USD 2 billion under management. Mr. Borgen has been the President of the Norwegian Business Association in Singapore since 2005.
Herkules’ Singapore office operates as a facilitator for Herkules’ portfolio companies in connection with their operations in Asia. The office searches for and establishes contacts with potential business partners, and is also responsible for maintaining relationship with the Herkules Funds’ Asian investors.
Prior to joining Herkules Capital in 2013, Mr. Borgen has for the last nine years served as General Manager and Regional Head of Asia for DNB, Norway’s largest bank, based in Singapore. DNB has over the last few years expanded its business in Asia and Australia especially within the maritime and energy sectors. During Mr. Borgen’s tenure the Bank opened offices in Shanghai and Mumbai and converted the Singapore office into a regional hub for DNB in Asia. The Bank provided Corporate and Investment Banking services in the region.
Before moving to Asia, Mr, Borgen served for 25 years in numerous executive and senior positions at DNB in Norway within Corporate Banking. Mr. Borgen has an MBA from St. Gallen Business School, Switzerland.
