Dr. Deunden Nikomborirak
Dr. Deunden Nikomborirak is currently Research Director at the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), an independent economic think-tank based in Bangkok. Dr. Deunden has produced extensive research work on corporate governance and fraud in the private sector. Her areas of expertise include competition law and policy, telecom regulation, trade in services and foreign investment.
She is currently member of several committees including two parliamentary subcommittees, the House Subcommittee of Energy and that on Trade and Intellectual property rights, subcommittee preparing for the 3G auction and subcommittee on telecom consumer protection and subcommittee, the Thai National Telecommunications and Broadcasting Commission (NBTC) and subcommittee on Corruption in the state owned enterprises and the private sector, the National Counter Corruption Commission (NACC).
Dr. Deunden completed her Bachelor and Master degrees in Economics from Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada and her PhD in Economics from Mc Gill University in Montreal, Canada. She briefly assumed a political position of Secretary to the Minister of Finance from March 2007 to February 2008 after which she returned to her research work at TDRI.
