Bjørn Kjos is the President and CEO of Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA, commercially branded “Norwegian”. It is Scandinavia’s second largest airline and the third largest low-cost airline in Europe. The company has a route portfolio that stretches across Europe into North Africa and the Middle East, as well as Thailand and the US. More than 20 million passengers flew with the airline in 2013.
Bjørn Kjos is a Law graduate of the University of Oslo. He was a fighter pilot in the Royal Norwegian Air Force for six years. Mr. Kjos has 20 year’s experience from legal practice, and was granted the right of audience in the Supreme Court in 1993. He is one of the founding partners of Norwegian Air Shuttle and was the Chairman of the Board between1993-1996. Kjos was also Chairman during the start-up period of the Boeing 737 operation from June-September 2002. Mr. Kjos has been the Chief Executive Officer at Norwegian since October 2002.
