Lars Svensson combines an entrepreneurial spirit with creative optimism and business, human and planet centric approach driving business enabled positive impact.
He received his MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics with a postgraduate scholarship for Malay language studies at the National University of Singapore.
Since 1992, he has worked in global, regional and local management roles based around Southeast Asia and Asia, mainly with IKEA but also for Novena Holdings, EF and Oriflame. In between it all, he returned to his native Sweden as Managing Director for Japro Energy Management Consulting and later as CEO and partner/owner for Internet start-up Global Events Online.
Since 2005 Lars have become more and more immersed in leading global and regional sustainability positions, driving both change, transformation, integration and development in the field.
Currently he is Founding Partner of Wallander & Sson (Impact Advisory and Business Developing Services) and The Chief Executive of the Sustainability & Entrepreneurship Center at Sasin School of Management and Midsummer AB’s Southeast Asia representative. He serves as the Board Member and Chair of the Sustainability Committee with the Thai-Swedish Chamber Of Commerce, Chair Sustainable Development Committee of the Joint Foreign Chamber of Commerce Thailand, Board Member of NIST Executive School Board, Board Member of NIST Foundation Board, Member of NIST Campus Development Committee, Chair Program Committee, and has served as Councillor for Southwest CDC in Singapore. He serves as Thought Partner for Ashoka and Social Entrepreneur Mentor for Unreasonable Group.
