Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veeris Ammarapala, born on 9 January 1975, is an academic and leader in the field of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Currently serving as a Professor of Technology Management, he holds the role of Governor at the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, contributing to the nation’s industrial development. Dr. Veeris earned his Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University, followed by a Master’s in Operations Research from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Rutgers University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Veeris has taken on roles such as Committee Member at Global Utilities Services Company Limited and Subcommittee Member of Finance Budget and Investment at the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand. His expertise includes Decision Support Systems, Risk Management, Production and Logistics Management, and Maintenance Management.
In addition to his academic and industry contributions, Dr. Veeris has served in advisory capacities for government bodies, including the Ministry of Justice and the Narcotics Control Board. Recognized for his contributions, he received accolades such as the Outstanding Researcher Award at Thammasat University and the Royal Award of Mother Day in 2023.
Dr. Veeris is also involved in research projects with entities like the Department of Rural Roads and the National Research Council of Thailand. He actively participates in community-building activities, holding the role of Vice President of the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology Alumni Association. Dr. Veeris’s career reflects a dedication to academic excellence, public service, and the advancement of industrial practices.
